Jamaican Ambergris Exquisite Perfume

The foundation of our Jamaican Ambergris is an exquisite pure White Ambergris ethically gathered along the Australian coast. The oceanic ambergris overtone is present all the time and its density is likely the first note you will smell on inhalation. A split second later, the rest of the aromatics catch up and the full bouquet unfolds to the senses.

What ambergris does to jasmine is magical. In perfumery, jasmine is often quite a dense heart note, beautiful but not one that jumps out at you. Paired with the ambergris it’s like the spotlight brings the jasmine to life, invigorated by the sagey sweetness of jambu resin, frangipani, oak moss and vanilla.

Our perfume is a hard fragrance to note-pick…the scent is tightly melded, and while the ambergris element is palpable, the composition is so unusual you’re experiencing a fragrance that is truly unique. 

Agarwood adds the deep grounding essence of resin, toned by the sandy dry beach tone of old amber. Add to this, waves of jambu frangipani-jasmine wafting hints of sweetness, and finish with a splash of fine Rose de Mai to add its diffusive lift and impart an air of elegance to Jamaican Ambergris’ exotic Caribbean, rum-sweet profile.

Agarwood essential oil is extracted from the fungus-infected wood of the agarwood tree, commonly called the “wood of the gods”. The benefits of agarwood oil include its anti-cancer, anti-bacterial and ant-inflammatory effects. Agarwood oil also has the ability to relieve pain, calm nerves, and promote healthy sleep. It is also used as an antidepressant in some parts of the world. It is frequently used as a base when making natural perfume/cologne. Many also like to enjoy adding this calming oil to their meditation routine. Known for its soothing, anti-stress and anti-anxiety properties, Amber Resin Oil is suitable for use in the bath, diffusers, massage and meditation blends and outdoor sprays. Emotionally and energetically, Jasmine Absolute Oil is nourishing and balancing. Rose Centifolia (Rose de Mai) has been used for centuries as a luxury and a costly perfume. Oakmoss Absolute is primarily used in high-class perfumery to add deep, earthy tones to a fragrance or product. This absolute blends extremely well with other floral essential oils such as Rose and Jasmine as well as citrus fruit oils like Bergamot and much more.  Emotionally and energetically, Evernia prunastri Absolute uplifts and calms. It can help heal emotional trauma and is often used to help positively release repressed anger and deal with rage productively.

White Ambergris - For hundreds of years, perfumers have categorized the quality of ambergris according to its colour, with the finest perfumes made from pure white varieties. Black ambergris is the least valuable because it contains the least ambrein. 

Ambergris masses change colour with oxidation, which happens when exposed to the sea and air for long periods of time. Between black and white, the colours range from grey to brown.

Due to accessibility and cost, synthetic chemicals have now replaced ambrein in all but the most expensive perfumes. We use only pure white ambergris from ethically gathered sources in our perfume.

Ambergris has been used for more than just perfume, however. Early Arab civilizations named it anbar and used it as incense, an aphrodisiac and medicine to cure many ailments, including those of the brain, heart and senses.
